Our Story
Great Lyde Farm has a rich history dating back to the Domesday Book in 1086, originally spanning a vast area from the Yeo River to Combe Street Lane. The name "Lyde" comes from the Old English word for a steep-sided watercourse. Once a substantial estate, Great Lyde Farm was reduced in size and named to differentiate it from its smaller counterpart, Little Lyde Farm. In the 1980s, it transformed into a public house under Palmers Brewery, now Under Tenure by Mike Krzyzanowski and his family, who have proudly continued its legacy since 2016.
